In the month of February, we will be skating every Friday at the Renous rink. We are scheduled to leave the school at 12:30 and skating until 1:30 or 1:45. Students must have skates and a proper helmet to be on the ice. The rink has kindly asked us to remind everyone that neither adults or students are permitted on the ice surface with boots.

We have been exploring numbers larger than 100. Last week, we looked at place value and counted base 10 blocks up to 200. We also looked at comparing numbers using < > and = symbols. This week, we will look at numbers lines and placing numbers on a number line using referents. We will start with smaller numbers and work our way up to 200.

It looks like cold weather is starting to approach this week; however, the playground has been very wet due to recent mild temperatures. It would be good idea to put extra clothes in your child’s backpack in case they get wet. Especially an extra pair of socks.
