Hello,

         A few parents have asked about ways to stay in touch throughout the school year. While I do not use Facebook, I am always happy to connect with families through email, a phone call to the school office, or a note in your child’s agenda. Please note, agendas are checked daily but homework folders are not.

A Few Reminders:

• September 14^th is Picture Day.
• Terry Fox Walk – school is asking for $2 donation from each student.
• Student Fee $65.
• Please have a quick peek in your child’s homework bag/agenda each night.
• Please keep personal items such as toys, squishies and fidgets at home.
• When ever possible, the school asks that students in kindergarten to Grade 5 bring only water in their water bottles for use in the classroom. Juice and flavored water are welcome at snack and lunchtime; however, when spilled, they can stain floors and desks and make for a sticky clean up.

Terry Fox Walk

Every year BHs participates in the Terry Fox Walk. The school is asking for a $2 donation from each student that will go directly to the Terry Fox Foundation.

Cafeteria

The New Brunswick School Food Program began on September 8^th. Please follow the link below to create a parent account and add a student profile. You will need to create a profile for each student currently attending Blackville School. More information about additional items available for purchase through the cafeteria will be shared soon.

Outdoor Time:

Again, this year, K-2 students will be spending more time outdoors. Please be sure to dress for the weather and feel free to pack a change of clothes in their bookbag (especially socks).

Welcome to Grade 2!

Welcome to another school year! I am very excited to be your child’s teacher and can’t wait to see everyone on Tuesday. This class page is where you will find information, pictures, and news about our classroom.

A Few Reminders:

• September 8^th is the first day of school for all students.
• Please sign and return forms.
• September 14^th is Picture Day.
• Cafeteria is open
• Student Fee $65.
• Please check the bus planner and update your child’s information.
• Dismissal time is 2:50pm for all students K-12.
• If your child is being picked up and not taking the bus home, please be sure to send in a note or contact the office.
• Please note: students are only permitted to have one bus stop, and bus notes are not permitted by our district.
• We have gym Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

We will be outside most of the day tomorrow. Please pack a water bottle, wear a hat and put sunscreen on at home.

K-5 will be doing track and field activities in the morning until lunch. They need sneakers for this (no boots, crocs or sandals). We are also doing literacy on the lawn in the afternoon.  If you think your child will have room, please feel free to send in a towel to sit on.

Students will have a lot of supplies to bring home tomorrow and Friday. Please remember a reusable bag. We will be sending home as much as we can tomorrow and the rest Friday.  

K-5 awards / recognition day will be Friday @ 9:00am. Reports cards will be available for pick up after 10:30am.  

No school tomorrow due to a power outage.

Please remember your reusable bag on Thursday. Everything we can fit will be coming home Thursday. Anything leftover will be sent Friday.

Thursday will be literacy on the Lawn as well. Students will have a lot to take home but if you think they manage, please feel free to send a towel for the to sit on.
