Homework: Printing sheet (due Friday)
Homework this week is a review of proper printing. Each student has a sheet with their first and last name, numbers to 10 and the lowercase alphabet. Click here for a homework help video.
Terry Fox Walk:
The Terry Fox Walk will take place September 19th. Pledge sheets are due back Friday. More details about walking times and activities will be sent home this week once they have been finalized by Mr. Hallihan. There is also an online donation page available at https://schools.terryfox.ca/team/grade-2-duffy .
Math:
We will continue to explore numbers to 100 this week. We began skip counting by 2’s to 100 last week and will move on skip counting by 5’s and 10’s this week. We will also look at expressing numbers in a variety of ways (base 10 blocks, tallies and ten frames). No math homework this week.
Literacy:
Last week we reviewed short vowel sounds and this week we will look at FLSZ spelling rule: The FLSZ or FLOSS rule states that if a one-syllable word has a short vowel sound and ends in the letter F, L, S, or Z, then the final consonant is doubled. Ex: cuff, hill, grass and buzz.

Please see cafeteria menu below. We will be starting on week 2. The cafeteria will be trying pre-orders this year but are still working on order forms. In the meantime, if your child is ordering, please include a note indicating what their money is for (snack or lunch). The snack cart will also be running next week and we will update you with prices when the cafeteria has them available. Thanks!
