Homework:
Printing working sheet (due back Friday). Help video
Read 2-3 nights this week.
This is our first week of homework in Grade 2!
Students have a guided reading book in their homework folder and are asked to read it at least 2-3 nights this week. This may be something new for your child, so please be patient as they get used to the routine. We have been practicing reading these types of books in class, and students are encouraged to do their best and sound out unfamiliar words.
You will also find a printing sheet in your child’s homework folder. We have been learning proper printing techniques and talking about how letters “fall from the sky” when forming them correctly. Please see the link below for a helpful homework support video if you have any questions. Please return the guided reading book and printing sheet on Friday. Thank you for your support at home!
Reminder:
Please take a quick peek in your child’s homework bag and agenda each evening.
Agendas should be signed nightly, as there may be important communications about your child’s day. Homework folders are only checked at the end of the week, so if there is something you would like me to see or be aware of, please feel free to send a note or write a quick message in your child’s agenda.
Thank you for your help and support. It is greatly appreciated!
Literacy:
The FLOSS rule states that you double the final f, l, s, or z in a one-syllable word that has a short vowel sound.
